Melissa is a Beauty Mogul who has worked 23 years in the business and has explored many lanes in the Beauty Industry. Melissa is currently published as a Beauty Expert and Master Hairstylist in several magazines.  She works as a high fashion industry hairstylist to clients such as Celebrity Models, Music Industry, TV, and Film Talents. As well as photographers, and fashion designers all over the world. Her work has been featured many seasons on New York Fashion Week and Los Angeles Fashion Week Runways “The Shows”. When she comes off the runway, you can also find her work featured on beauty and fashion blogs, beauty campaigns, television, films, commercials, and award show productions.

 

This journey was not overnight as she graduated from Dudley’s Beauty Academy and was licensed 1996. For a while, she worked in many different salons to gain experience. Then in 2008, she decided to get licensed as a Senior Cosmetologist and opened her first salon, Blush Beauty Bar, INC. Being a salon owner, allowed her to learn the responsibilities of managing other hairstylist, barbers, nail techs, and makeup artist. She offered apprenticeship programs in her salon for unlicensed hairstylist where she trains them to become state board licensed. Now, with the salon open since 2008, she ventures out into beauty retail sales by obtaining an overseas distributor in India. She built relationships with companies and started her own luxury hair extensions and wig line she calls “Blush Platinum Star Indian Hairline”. As a hairstylist in the industry, she offers wholesale prices and hair is sold at her salon location as well as online.

 

Shortly after starting her hairline, Melissa expanded into hair loss. This was more than business decision; this was personal. Her journey to help with hair loss issues began with her experiences with hair loss through her personal fight with breast cancer. She began making herself wigs and always received compliments about her hair; so she wanted the same for many clients she encountered suffering from hair loss. She has studied hair loss, and became a AMCA/ American Medical Board Certified Trichologist & Hair Replacement Specialist through The United States Trichology Institute . She works with patients, doctors, insurance companies, and many other hair loss organizations to provide wig prosthesis for woman, children, and men suffering from terminal hair loss. This has been a purpose driven and fulfilling way for her to give back, and she is honored to work with patients.

 

Never leaving a stone unturned she decided to come from behind the chair and travel with some companies to train and work as a Platform Artist and Educator in 2014. She developed her skills teaching salon product training classes, as well as her stage presentations at trade shows which gave her the confidence to go out and go after many of her current industry gigs.

 

Melissa is super passionate and loves to create. She is versatile as a stylist working with any ethnicity and texture of hair, high glam hairstyles, Avant Garde Editorial, and bridal looks. Specializing in hair extensions, hair coloring, and hair cutting techniques, there is no limit to her talent or creativity. Some of her published work can be seen in Getty Images, Harper's BAZAAR, Vogue Runway, Billie Blunt Magazine, I Fashion Magazine, Dlatinos Magazine, Fashion Maniac, Inblack Magazine, Fashion Week Online, Kontrol Magazine, Mazzo hair magazine, CNN Indonesia, and BET TV Network to name a few.
